Page-to-Stage 2017

Six stories. Six playwrights. Six actors. Six short plays that capture different perspectives of the human experience. One weekend only! Wasatch Theatre Company is pleased to present their Annual Page-to-Stage Festival, a showcase of works by local playwrights.

The Page-to-Stage Festival represents Wasatch’s commitment to producing original theatrical work. This year, Wasatch has partnered with The Bee to offer retellings of true stories that have been shared by Utah residents during one of the Bee’s ‘lovingly competitive storytelling’ events.

Using these stories as a starting point, six local playwrights (Bill Anderson, Beth Bruner, Sierra Ducharme-Hansen, Nicholas Dunn, Laurel Myler, and Erin Saunders), under the guidance of local actor/director/playwright Dave Hanson, crafted one act plays. The results? Stories that touch on the highlights and heartbreaks of being human.

The scripts were then handed off to director Zac Curtis and his cast of six actors (Gordon Dunn, Stacey Jenson, Ali Lente, Merry MaGee, Haley McCormick, and Jesse Nepivoda). And now these ‘True Stories form the Hive’ are ready for the stage.

The production runs for one weekend only, with performances on Thursday, May 11th at 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 12th at 8:00 p.m., and Saturday,  May 13th at 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Rose Wagner Studio Theatre (138 West 300 South). Tickets are $20.00 and can be purchased at 801-355-2787 or  Special events surrounding the festival include a reception following the Friday evening performance.
